Instructor FAQs
Do I need to create an account as an instructor?+
No. Swap Tests is a learner-facing platform. Simply share the link with your pupils. They sign up themselves. You don't need to register or do any admin.
Is this legal for my pupils to use?+
Yes. DVSA officially supports test-to-test swaps. The learner calls DVSA directly on 0300 200 1122. We just connect compatible learners. This is fully compliant with current DVSA rules.
What if a pupil is matched but then isn't ready?+
They can decline the match at no cost. They're put back in the pool and matched again when the time is right. Accepting is always their choice.
Does my pupil need at least one change remaining?+
Yes. Since 31 March 2026, each learner is allowed 2 changes per booking. A swap counts as one change for each person involved. Make sure your pupil has at least one remaining before they sign up.
How long does a swap typically take?+
Once matched, the DVSA call takes around 10 minutes. Finding a match typically takes days to a couple of weeks depending on the centre and flexibility.
